The Position:
We are seeking to identify a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Procurement Director. This pivotal position requires a professional with a keen eye for detail, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in procurement within the automotive and/or retail sectors. The ideal candidate will possess exemplary leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for directing and overseeing the procurement of supplies, conducting thorough research on pricing trends, and effectively managing the sourcing of tools, supplies, and equipment. You will play a key role in developing constructive relationships with suppliers, negotiating product quality, service level standards, and costs. Additionally, you will lead a team of procurement staff, setting internal policies for conduct and managing activities, objectives, and goals to ensure the organization meets company objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
- Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university or equivalent experience.
- 5+ Years senior level experience with a procurement focus, with automotive and/or retail experience preferred.
- Demonstrated qualifications in procurement.
General Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees the procurement of supplies, researching pricing trends and managing sourcing of tools, supplies and equipment.
- Develops constructive relationships with suppliers, negotiating product quality, service level standards and costs.
- Directs procurement staff, sets internal policy for conduct, managing activities, objectives and goals with the ultimate intent to have the organization meet company objectives.
- Work with IT to identify system enhancements to support the procurement process, participate in R&D on projects and implementation of new programs.
