DSJ Global is currently seeking an experienced and talented Director of Transportation to join our client's leading logistics company based in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. Our client operates globally with their cutting-edge technology solutions that provide end-to-end supply chain visibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Previous experience as a director within transportation operations
- Proven track record working for 3PL companies
- In-depth knowledge and expertise on port operations and drayage.
Responsibilities include but not limited too;
- Ensure timely delivery through effective planning; develop schedules taking into account variable factors such as traffic patterns/weather conditions etc.
- Develop strong relationships both internally cross-functional departments & externally suppliers/carriers/customers/ports officials
- Manage budgets efficiently by monitoring expenses against approved budget regularly
- Continuously improve performance metrics focusing on reducing lead times/costs/delays
Skills:
- Import/Export Operations - Overseeing import/export processes from start to finish while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Transportation Management - Managing all aspects related to ground freight (Fleet) including dispatching, routing optimization & carrier management
- Logistics Planning - Developing strategic plans for efficient transportation routes minimizing cost without affecting service levels.
- Communication Skills- Able to effectively communicate complex information between different teams/departments/company executives
