An industry-leading food manufacturing organization is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive EHS Coordinator to support their growing manufacturing team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of safety. Working closely with the EHS Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll be instrumental in implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization.
The EHS Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
* Perform routine safety inspections of machinery, equipment, and workspaces to identify and rectify potential hazards.
* Engage in hazard assessments and risk evaluations, proposing and implementing corrective measures.
* Monitor and manage safety-related data, including incident reports, near misses, and records of safety training.
* Facilitate and aid in the development and delivery of safety training programs covering various EHS topics for employees.
* Supervise the appropriate handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
* Maintain accurate and current EHS documentation, including permits, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and training records.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations such as OSHA and EPA standards.
* Provide assistance to the EHS Manager in budgeting and resource allocation.
* Keep abreast of the latest EHS trends and best practices within the manufacturing sector
The ideal EHS Coordinator candidate will have the following skill set:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field; however, relevant experience with an Associate's degree may also be considered.
* 3+years EHS experience in a Food Manufacturing or similarly regulated environment
* Solid grasp of fundamental EHS principles and methodologies.
* Expertise of cGMP principles
* Familiarity with applicable environmental and safety regulations such as OSHA and EPA is advantageous.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational proficiencies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to collaborate effectively within a team or work independently.
* Keen attention to detail coupled with a steadfast dedication to safety.
