As the Indirect Operational Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing operations for all indirect procurement activities at our site. This includes leading a small team and ensuring efficient conversion of purchase requisitions to orders. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in operational procurement, particularly within indirect commodities as well as having excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operational procurement process for all indirect procurement activities.
- Supervise a small team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop strategies to meet them effectively.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Oversee the conversion of purchase requisitions to orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns as they arise.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in operational procurement, preferably within indirect commodities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Experience with functional or dotted line management is beneficial (but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, policies, and regulations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with procurement software and systems is desirable.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
