Title: Production Superintendent
Location: Greater DFW Area
A leading name in the Industrials industry is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to oversee product manufacturing, product quality, material management, and the development and training of employees in a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
The Production Superintendent will be primarily responsible for communicating and supporting all company goals and targets related to safety, quality, productivity, problem-solving, troubleshooting processes, and developing corrective actions.
The Production Superintendent will have the following responsibilities:
- Support improvement of safety performance through reduction of OSHA incident rate and lost time accidents.
- Manage all product manufacturing, finished quality, and raw material management.
- Supervise resources used to meet production goals, assisting in preparation of budgets and standards for all cost measurements.
- Developing and administering material and labor metrics and usage controls.
- Facilitate and document all training and lead team-based process and equipment improvements
- Plan and schedule work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels.
- Make sure production activities comply with company policies and procedures and that all goods meet finished product specifications.
- Maintain compliance with all legal, regulatory, financial, and environmental requirements.
- Fill in for the Plant Manager as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal Production Superintendent MUST have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or relevant field WITH a minimum of 5 years operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve any process issues.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead change and implement continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work and partner with Plant Leadership team.
- Working knowledge and understanding of SAP or ERP systems.
- Manages a staff of 300 hourly and 11 salaried employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating.
- May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds
- Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
