The Safety Manager will develop, direct, and communicate plant-wide safety and security initiatives, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company standards to reduce injuries and achieve safety goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop, direct, and communicate plant-wide safety and security initiatives to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards.
Implement comprehensive safety and property conservation programs, conduct regular inspections, and provide training for OSHA compliance and safety excellence.
Assist operations and maintenance teams in achieving a safe working environment, interpreting OSHA standards, and managing work order completion.
Chair the Joint Plant Safety Committee, develop plant policies, and manage safety committee issues.
Supervise Safety Department staff and external consultants, overseeing plant security programs and regulatory agency inspections.
Manage asbestos and industrial hygiene programs, conduct incident investigations, and ensure OSHA recordkeeping compliance.
Conduct audits under OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) standard and participate in hazard studies and evaluations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
5-7 years' experience in industrial manufacturing, with a track record of implementing occupational safety programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated leadership ability and supervisory experience.
