Role Overview: As a Strategic Buyer specializing in logistics within the medical device industry, you will be instrumental in building and executing procurement strategies to optimize our supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and freight forwarding, aligned with the company's growth objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
Supplier Selection: Evaluate and select logistics partners based on criteria such as reliability, cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements in logistics procurement processes, driving cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality and reliability.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with logistics operations, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and quality control, implementing risk mitigation strategies to safeguard continuity of supply.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics service providers against key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and service level commitments.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, supply chain, finance, and quality assurance teams, to align logistics procurement strategies with business requirements and objectives.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics procurement processes, leveraging data analytics, market insights, and industry best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic procurement or sourcing roles, with a focus on logistics procurement within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing logistics procurement strategies, driving cost savings, and optimizing supply chain efficiency.
- Strong negotiation skills and contract management experience, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with logistics service providers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Solid understanding of logistics operations, regulations, and industry standards, with a focus on compliance, quality, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and verbal.
