Tasks:
Leadership and Talent Development:
- Spearhead disciplinary and professional leadership initiatives for production planning and logistics teams, focusing on continuous qualification, training, and development, while ensuring compliance with labor and environmental regulations.
- Drive strategic organizational development efforts within the teams.
Supply Chain Planning:
- Independently manage short-term, medium-term, and long-term supply chain planning, encompassing detailed planning, master planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities. Ensure alignment with delivery reliability and inventory objectives.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to forecast demand across planning horizons.
- Plan capacity and occupancy in coordination with production teams.
- Determine material requirements, either independently or in collaboration with procurement teams, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations for various product groups.
- Manage subcontractors as integral parts of the value chain, make make-or-buy decisions, and execute directives from the business unit.
- Develop strategic production and logistics concepts for the plant, aligning them with the overall company strategy in coordination with the plant manager.
Supply Chain Management:
- Serve as the second escalation level in resolving supply chain disruptions, communicating with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly review value streams and maintain planning parameters and master data in the ERP system. Participate in optimization projects to ensure optimal value streams at the site.
- Set inventory targets, monitor inventory levels continuously, and define measures to optimize inventory management.
- Monitor logistics cost budgets and identify measures to reduce logistics-related expenses, including internal costs for transportation and loading, as well as external costs for transportation, packaging, and low utilization.
Process Optimization and Collaboration:
- Optimize planning and logistics processes in alignment with business unit directives. Engage in cross-site optimization and training projects to enhance supply chain maturity across the company.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Analyze and report relevant data and metrics to plant and business unit management.
Profile:
- Educational Background: Hold a Master's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or alternatively, a Master's in Business Administration with a focus on supply chain or logistics.
- Experience: Possess several years of experience in production planning and/or logistics, including leadership roles.
- Industry Exposure: Ideally, have experience in the aluminum industry or related sectors such as automotive, rail, construction/engineering, or aerospace.
- Skills and Attributes: Demonstrate strong technical and business process understanding, along with a high level of commitment, resilience, and agility. Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
- Software Proficiency: Experienced user of ERP systems, preferably ProAlpha, and proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
